AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Audi is
the first manufacturer ever to earn three
“Double Best Pick” ratings from the Insurance
Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for their
front and side crash test results on the A3, A4,
and A6. Audi raised the bar again with the
addition of the A3 to the list of “Double Best
Pick.” The Audi A3 earned the rating after its
performance in the recently conducted IIHS side
impact crash test and the frontal offset crash
test.
The new Audi A3 represented in these tests went
on sale in the U.S. in May. The 200 hp A3 2.0 T
is available with a standard 6-speed manual
transmission, or an optional automatic 6-speed
Direct-Shift Gearbox. The A3 3.2 quattro S-line
will be available mid-November and features a
250 hp narrow-angle 3.2L V6 engine, standard
6-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox transmission, and
Audi’s legendary quattro all-wheel drive.
