AUDI AG achieved not only a new sales
record for the tenth time in succession in
2005 with 829,100 vehicles sold; it also
set a new production record, manufacturing
more than 810,000 Audi vehicles (+3.4
percent). In 2004 Audi built a total of
783,000 vehicles. Particularly pleasing
with regard to Germany: over 750,000 Audi
models left the production lines at the
Audi plants in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm
(+4 percent). This represents more than 90
percent of total production. “Never before
in the history of the company have so many
vehicles been produced at these two sites.
This is proof of the competitiveness of
our German plants,” commented Dr. Jochem
Heizmann, Board Member for Production at
Audi.
For the first time ever, more than half a
million Audi models were produced at the
main Audi plant in Ingolstadt, Bavaria.
Around 510,000 vehicles were produced in
the Audi A3 and Audi A4 model lines, which
made a great contribution towards setting
this record. Some 240,000 vehicles in the
Audi A2, Audi A6, Audi A8 and Audi allroad
quattro series were produced at the
Neckarsulm site in Baden-Württemberg. In
comparison: in 2004 Audi built around
720,000 Audi models in Ingolstadt and
Neckarsulm.
